The Four Fires
Craftsmanship
The techniques that shape every Kothari piece — preserved in the hands of karigars who learnt them from their fathers.

From Sketch to Heirloom
Five stages, one pair of hands
Every commission follows the same unhurried path — usually six to twelve weeks from first sketch to final polish.
Stage 01
The Conversation & Design
A private sitting at the haveli. The occasion, the wearer, the heirlooms already in the family — then a hand-drawn sketch on tracing paper.
Stage 02
Sourcing the Stones
Uncut polki lots, Zambian emeralds and Basra-style pearls chosen stone by stone, each with its certification recorded.
Stage 03
Handcrafting at the Bench
Ghaat, paadh, khudai, meena, jadai — one karigar carries the piece through every stage of the Kundan sequence.
Stage 04
Quality & Hallmarking
Weight, purity and setting checked twice, then BIS hallmarking with HUID before the piece is photographed for the archive.
Stage 05
Presentation & Delivery
Sealed in a velvet case with its certificate, delivered by insured courier or handed over in person at the salon.
