Building a bridal trousseau that survives the wedding

05 February 2025

Most trousseaux are assembled in panic. The better ones are assembled around a single anchor piece — usually a choker or a long haar — that every other purchase then answers to.

Our advice to brides is unfashionable: buy fewer, heavier, and plainer. The lightweight set bought for the sangeet will be forgotten. The polki haar will be re-strung for a daughter.

Allow the atelier eight to twelve weeks. Handwork does not accelerate, and asking it to is the only way to spoil it.
